What a difference a week makes as blue skies finally made a reappearance for my second music festival of the summer, Deer Shed, which took place at Baldersby Park in North Yorkshire. The wellies remained in the boot of the car as the mudbath of the previous weekend was replaced by a lush carpet of green grass. Three days of fabulous music and entertainment at what has been recognised as one of the most family-friendly festivals on the circuit. Yes, there were showers, but that has become the norm recently for what meteorologists have announced as the wettest July on record.
On this occasion, my attendance was in a working capacity so I was able to get up close when photographing the artists from the 'pit', in front of all the stages, and use my pro camera as opposed to a smartphone. More equipment to carry but much more satisfying results. An article has since gone in The Northern Echo (https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/news/23690223.deer-shed-crowds-enjoy-thirsk-music-festival---pictures/) with words written by my better half Lucy.
